Ladies Road Trip- My Virginia Adventure

Hello Friends!  I’m still buzzing with excitement from my weekend getaway! It was everything I needed and more. I had such a great time I decided to write about it and share with all of you!

The destination was Virginia to visit a close online friend of mine for the very first time. My fabulous friend CJ volunteered to come with me and for around 2 months we planned our “Badass Goddess Weekend”.

The day finally arrived, CJ and I were more than ready to set out! It was a totally smooth and easy trip into Virginia. Lots of pretty hills and mountains and fun with my road buddy. Once we made it to SD’s house I was happy to be out of the car and to finally meet my long time friend! She greeted us with all the warmth in the world and totally opened her home up to us.

Our first little adventure was hiking to a waterfall. It was worth the trek let me tell you. It was the first waterfall I had ever seen and it was gorgeous, the sound from it was very  tranquil. I was extremely tempted to dip my feet in but wasn’t really sure if that was allowed so we took our pictures and moved on. Below the waterfall were these really cool caves we explored, they reminded me of a home. Some had bench/bed like formations and others had different “rooms” it was awesome looking around.

The same day we went out kayaking on the river. It was again my first time, as I have never been kayaking before. I was a bit nervous but more excited than anything because everyone else was experienced, so I felt in good hands. I hopped in and went right to it! Took me a few minutes to get the hang of it all but I think I did pretty good for my first time. The ride was amazing! I kept thinking how peaceful it was and why I hadn’t done this sooner. There is nothing like floating down a river lined with trees and birds chirping, it was a calm space for me.

That night we were all exhausted but determined to have at least one campfire on our weekend. I had never realized a sky full of fireflies can look remarkably whimsical. The sky was so dark that all you could see high and low were the glowing green lights of these bugs. It was the perfect night to sleep in our tent, I slept so good in all the fresh air.

These were just the highlight moments of my trip, we had a blast the entire time! Not a stale or boring moment with these lovely ladies. Meeting SD was really like meeting an old friend and having CJ with me made the trip complete.

If you made it this far, thanks so much for reading! I hope this inspires you to take your own adventures this summer and make the time for building friendships that last a life time. ❤
